Setting screen resolution to native

I've got GSS 2.5 working beautifully: I made a model image on an OptiPlex 390, and I was able to push the image out not only to that OptiPlex 390, but also to an OptiPlex 3010, with all drivers working, so success!

One hangup, though. The OptiPlex 390 has a monitor with a native resolution of 1600*900. The OptiPlex 3010 I later imaged with the same image has a monitor with a native resolution of 1280*1024. After joining the domain and coming back online, the monitor was working at 800*600. This was not a driver issue; I was able to adjust it to 1280*1024 in the control panel.

Is there a way to tell Windows 7 to default to the monitor's native resolution?
